Your booking is for just one artist however if you are in a hurry or need to record at a certain time, Voicefairy allows you to create a short list. This means if your first choice is not available, the system will move on to the second.
We recommend you supervise recordings over the phone as it normally results in a better, more efficient process however if you would prefer not to, select 'unsupervised' on the pre-booking screen.
The first thing to do is contact your artist though Voxmail chat. You have seven days to contact them after you download your file. They will normally do their best to ensure you are happy. If they are unable to solve the problem, contact us.

The booking fee covers the admin of contacting the artist and arranging the appointment. It also means we know you're serious about booking them.
We get preferential rates from our artists because they know they will be paid within a month. For us to do this, we need to charge at the point of download.
Using our conferencing technology means you and your client can dial into the session. It also means we have a record of how long the session took and protects you and the artist's privacy.
Upload the material to a sharing site like Vimeo and put the link in the 'Video Guide' field.

Once you have a session confirmed, if you need to re-schedule, use Voxmail chat to find a time you can both do, taking into account any time change. Once you have agreed a new time, click the 'Request timeslot change' button on the session tab of your project and put in the details. The artist will confirm and your session will be re-scheduled.
If you add them to your short list by clicking the ADD button on their profile and then click, 'Check artist availability'. You will then be presented with a calendar showing when they are available.
Yes, whilst a job is open those phone details are for your project. Just arrange through Voxmail a mutually convenient time - remembering any time differences! Then click the 'Request timeslot change' on the session tab of your project.
Our payment provider at the moment is Paypal. This means you can pay via credit card or if you have a Paypal account you can pay with credit or directly from a bank account.
During the booking process you will be asked to supply the script. This will be forwarded to the artist when they are offered the job. The system will also do a word count on the script to ensure you have booked enough time. You can update your script any time before the session by clicking the 'Revise script' button on the details tab of your project.
No, there is the option to request an unsupervised session during the booking process.
Log into your dashboard, go to your project and then the 'fee and payment' tab.
If you've already recorded a session with an artist and need to make some changes to that recording, a changes project is the best way to do it. To do this, select 'Changes' from the 'Show rates for:' dropdown on the search page. If for some reason your artist isn't listed when you do this, let us know.
There is a project type called 'audition' if you select that, you will get artist rates for auditions. You book a project in the same way but there is no usage associated with the fee so it is much lower. If you want to use the recording, you need to either contact us to pay for usage or book another session selecting the correct usage. If you are after a particular reading style as an example clip, we may be able to get the artist to add one to their profile for free. Just give us a call.
The 'online' rates are global and only limited by the number of views. If you are after another type of usage such as television commercials and cannot see the country you're after, give us a call.
As you are paying for both studio time and usage, a booking must be one project. However it is permitted for you to record more than one element of a project, such as chapters or cut downs. However if you are making more than one video, your usage limit will be a total of all views from all the videos.
You can use Voxmail chat. Log into your dashboard, select the project under live projects and then the Voxmail chat tab.
Your login credentials will work on both VoxXpress and Voice Fairy websites.
The clip you hear in the search results is specific to the search you just performed. If you want to hear other examples of an artist's work, click on their photo and then you will be able to see all of their clips.
Click the 'download' button below the play button. This will download the mp3 file to your computer.
VoxXpress and Voicefairy both have the same artists at the same rates. VoxXpress is our oldest running site but with the newest fully responsive design, which works better on mobiles and is quicker, but you can use either.
Our business is based on payment at the point of download. This means we don't have to pay staff to chase invoices and our artists give us preferential rates because they know they will be paid within a month. If you really can't pay via credit card, the best option is to use an intermediary company who will pay us and then invoice you. Our sister company POV productions ( can organise this subject to a credit check but do charge a 20% production fee for the service. Call or email us if you need more information on this.
You don't need a Paypal account, just a credit card. Select the 'check out as guest' option.
